A Man Drives A “Just Divorced” Car to Celebrate the End of His 23-Year Marriage

A 58-year-old man has chosen an interesting way to remember the end of his marriage.

Angus Kennedy desired to inform the public about his choice to abstain from marriage, and to achieve this, and he decorated his car with amusing bumper stickers that conveyed his anti-marriage sentiments.

He has transformed the quintessential ‘Just Married’ car, typically used by newlyweds to leave their wedding venue, and given it an entirely unconventional spin.

Angus, who has five children, has adorned his 2004 Subaru Outback with white artificial flowers, ribbons on the hood, and the word “freedom” written across the windows.

He has been cruising around Dartford, Kent, in his “Just Divorced” vehicle, seeking humor and bringing attention to the fact that he is now a single, eligible bachelor in the community.

However, this is not an act of retribution or an attempt to shame his ex-wife.

“Sophie and I are still on good terms,” he stated. “Our relationship simply didn’t work out, but there’s no ill will between us. The final divorce decree was issued in January, so I thought decorating the car in this manner would be a lighthearted way to mark the occasion.”

The couple agreed to go their separate ways after filing for divorce in July 2021.

They have five children ranging in age from 11 to 23 years and have shared custody of the kids.

The divorce was officially completed in January of the current year. But this is not the only way Angus plans to celebrate the end of his marriage.

“I intend to reach out to the church so I can undo my wedding vows that I made over 20 years ago and officially end my marriage,” he stated.

Angus disclosed that his former wife, Sophie Kennedy, aged 47, finds the entire car decoration amusing.

“We have a great relationship,” he stated.

Sophie expressed her full support for Angus’ celebration of his divorce.

“The car decoration is humorous, and to be honest, I wouldn’t expect anything less from him,” Sophie stated.

She emphasized the importance of her and Angus ending their marriage on positive terms.

“It was crucial for me to demonstrate to our children that it’s possible to maintain a friendship even after a divorce,” Sophie explained. “I wanted to set a good example for them.”

Even though Angus and Sophie have gone their separate ways, they still have family traditions that they continue to observe.

“We still celebrate Christmas and Easter together, as well as birthdays, and we make sure to have family dinners every so often to catch up,” she added.
