Biden Ahead of Trump by 4 Points, But Trump Closing Lead, Says Latest Poll

According to the latest Quinnipiac University poll, President Biden continues to hold a narrow lead over former President Trump, the leading contender for the GOP, as speculation mounts about a potential rematch in the November election.

Biden’s Lead Over Trump

The poll indicates that 49 percent of registered voters express support for Biden, while 45 percent favor Trump.

Although Biden’s lead has slightly narrowed compared to January, he remains ahead of Trump in the survey.

Tight Race Among Independents

Among independent voters, crucial in determining election outcomes, Biden’s lead is narrower.

Approximately 44 percent of independents favor Biden, while 42 percent back Trump.

Party Loyalty

The survey highlights strong party loyalty, with 93 percent of Democrats supporting Biden and 91 percent of Republicans supporting Trump.

Hypothetical Match-Up with Third-Party Candidates

In a hypothetical scenario including independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West, as well as Green Party candidate Jill Stein, Biden maintains a slight lead with 38 percent compared to Trump’s 37 percent.

Aggregate polls compiled by The Hill/Decision Desk HQ show a 2.7 percentage point lead for Trump over Biden in a head-to-head contest.

Biden Too Old, Trump not so Much

The Quinnipiac poll also delved into perceptions of age and fitness among voters.

While 67 percent consider Biden, 81, too old for another term, 57 percent believe Trump, 77, is not too old.

Trump is Fitter

Regarding physical and mental fitness, a higher percentage of voters perceive Trump as fit for another term compared to Biden.
