The competition, known as the AI Cyber Challenge, is organized by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and involves AI development teams showcasing their AI-powered tools to protect crucial US code that underpins internet operations and other critical infrastructure.

The competition’s top three scoring competitors will receive additional monetary rewards, with the top five teams advancing to the final round in 2025. Companies such as Anthropic, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI are supporting competitors by granting access to their AI technology for the challenge.
