Regardless of whether or not DNA tests prove her notion, the 21-year-old Polish woman who claims to be Madeleine McCann has said she has no desire to have a relationship with the lady who raised her.
Julia Wendell, who also uses the names Julia Wandelt and Julia Faustyna, talked about her journey to explain she is the missing little girl on Dr. Phil on Monday, March 27.
During their conversation about the continuing case, Dr. Phil McGraw asked her whether she had made any attempts to provide her DNA samples to Scotland Yard so that they might be matched to those of Madelyn McCann.
Wendell said that she had approached the agency but had not received a response and was instead utilizing an ancestry test to try to connect her to the McCann family.
The presenter then questioned what her next move could be in the event that she discovered that she was biologically connected to the Polish couple who had taken care of her.
Wendell said confidently, “I believe I’m Madeleine McCann.” “If she is my mother, I just don’t want to contact with her, but I don’t think she is.”
She further stated that she is ready for any test to establish her actual purported ancestry.
Wendell admitted she couldn’t recall much of her childhood but noted her first recollection was of going on holiday. She also shared skin moles on her legs and a rare coloboma on her right eye, like the missing kids.
She quoted, “beach and water, like sea or ocean, and there were turtles and kids.” “Then I recalled light-colored buildings with sunshine on them, like white or extremely light colors.”
But Wendell’s family issued a statement that claimed that the 21-year-old was, in fact, lying about her identity as the three-year-old who disappeared from her family’s home in the Praia da Luz resort in Portugal over 15 years ago.
“It’s clear to us as a family that Julia is our daughter, eldest daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and step-niece,” the statement said. “We have photographs and memories. Together with the birth certificate and various hospital releases, Julia also has these pictures, which she took from the family home.
“We were continually trying to figure out what was going on with Julia. Julia’s threats to our address, her falsehoods and manipulations, and her online activities: “There was more to the statement. “It is quite clear that Julia is not Maddie, and the internet will not forget this fact. This current circumstance has crushed us.”
