Elon Musk Speaks Out Against Border Bill’s Provisions On Illegal Immigration

Elon Musk took to social media to express his disapproval of the allocation of $2.3 billion to non-governmental personnel involved in “illegal immigration facilitation.”

These services encompass housing assistance, medical aid, legal support, and case management assistance, as outlined in the bill’s text.

The legislation further empowers the Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement to utilize the allocated funds for issuing awards or supplementing existing awards.

Apart from the controversial allocation, the border security component of the bill allocates $20 billion to provide the federal government with temporary authority to expel migrants when daily crossings surpass a specified threshold.

In a recent post, Musk drew attention to a 2021 news story that revealed Biden’s intention to prioritize offering legal status to approximately 11 million people during his presidency.

According to the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) report for fiscal year 2023, the number of illegal immigrants on the non-detained docket has shown a significant increase.
