FBI confirms existence of file linking Biden to $5 million bribery scheme

The Chair of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer (R-KY), shared some significant news on Wednesday.

He reported that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had confirmed the existence of a file, which the FBI has not surrendered to Congress, that allegedly connects President Joe Biden to a bribery scheme worth $5 million. This is a claim the Department of Justice has not previously contradicted.

During their routine meeting on Wednesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray validated the existence of this file to Comer. The file reportedly outlines a deal between now-President Biden and a foreign individual, in which policy decisions were allegedly traded for monetary gain.

Despite this confirmation, Comer pointed out that the FBI continues withholding this subpoenaed, non-classified file from Congress. This led him to reinforce his threat of holding Wray in contempt of Congress.

The FBI, on the other hand, has proposed that Comer could inspect the file at the FBI’s headquarters.

“Today, FBI Director Wray confirmed the existence of the FD-1023 form alleging then-Vice President Biden engaged in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national,” Comer said in a statement.

“However, Director Wray did not commit to producing the documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee’, he said.

Furthermore, he continued, “While Director Wray – after a month of refusing to even acknowledge that the form existed – has offered to allow us to see the documents in person at FBI headquarters, we have been clear that anything short of producing these documents to the House Oversight Committee is not in compliance with the subpoena.”

“If the FBI fails to hand over the FD-1023 form as required by the subpoena, the House Oversight Committee will begin contempt of Congress proceedings.”

A warning came from House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Tuesday. He cautioned Wray that should he fail to provide the file, McCarthy would initiate proceedings to hold Wray in contempt of Congress.
