Gold Star families, who lost loved ones in the deadly Kabul airport bombing, have criticized the Biden administration for its handling of the Afghan withdrawal.
During a congressional forum, these families accused the administration of lying about the details of the withdrawal and the circumstances leading up to their loved ones’ deaths.
Steve Nikoui, whose son Lance Cpl.Kareem Nikoui was killed in the bombing, expressed his frustration, alleging that the administration used the botched exit as a political move.
Nikoui believes that his son and the other service members were killed for the sake of a photo opportunity to claim victory over the 20-year war.
Other Gold Star families, including those of Staff Sgt. Taylor Hoover and Lance Cpl. Dylan Merola, echoed similar sentiments, accusing the administration of lying and disrespecting their loved ones’ sacrifice.
They expressed their determination to seek answers and accountability from the government. These families also emphasized the importance of acknowledging their loved ones’ sacrifice and ensuring that the truth is revealed.
They believe that proper recognition and accountability are crucial not only for their own healing but also for the future of those who may choose to serve in the armed forces..
