Former President Donald Trump’s Acting Intelligence Director, Richard Grenell, has called on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) to subpoena Avril Haines, the Director of National Intelligence for the Biden administration.
Grenell’s demand comes after Turner discussed the current terror threat to the United States during an appearance on Trey Gowdy’s Fox News show.
In his statement, Turner expressed concerns about international terrorist organizations and “lone wolves” being inspired by Hamas’ attack on Israel. He emphasized the need for securing the southern border to mitigate the risk of a terrorist attack.
Grenell responded by reminding Turner of his position as the Chairman of the House Intel Committee and urging him to take action through a subpoena.

FBI Director Christopher Wray has also echoed these concerns, highlighting the potential for other terrorist cells to be inspired by the Hamas attacks in Israel.
Wray addressed the Senate’s Homeland Security Committee in October, stating that the actions of Hamas and its allies could create an elevated terrorism threat against the United States. He called for vigilance during this “dangerous period” without panicking.
