Hezbollah Leader Nasrallah Denounces Israel for Killing of Hamas Deputy in Beirut

Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the powerful armed group in Lebanon, Hezbollah, condemned Israel’s killing of Hamas Deputy Chief Saleh al-Arouri in Beirut, describing it as a “major, dangerous crime.” In his televised speech, he referred to the act as a “flagrant Israeli aggression.”

The Israeli strike took place in Dahiyeh, a significant Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut. Analysts considered this a clear message from Israel, indicating that even Hezbollah’s strongholds are within reach.

This incident marked the end of a period of relative calm in Beirut following nearly three months of daily fire exchanges between Hezbollah and the Israeli military. Previously, they were mostly confined to the border region.
