Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden and a fellow board member of Burisma, was met with media questions as he entered a congressional hearing on Monday. Archer, who is expected to testify against the Biden family, smiled but refrained from responding to reporters’ inquiries.
The Republican-led House Oversight Committee invited Archer to provide closed-door testimony on President Biden’s involvement in Hunter Biden’s business dealings, including claims that the President sat in on numerous business calls with his son during his vice presidency.
Archer’s credibility comes into question due to his previous sentencing to one year in prison for his role in a $60 million bond fraud case involving multiple clients. Despite previous deposition attempts being canceled for personal reasons, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has requested a sentencing date for Archer, but his counsel argues it is premature due to potential further appeals.
