Gallant pointed to the October 7 Hamas attacks, resulting in over 1,200 deaths and 200 hostages, as the bloodiest day for Jewish people since 1945. This, he argued, justified Israel’s subsequent bombardment and invasion of Gaza, drawing international condemnation.

He also emphasized the need to dissuade enemies who are allied with Iran, which supports Hamas, saying, “The world needs to understand—this is different.”
