Last week, Foxx posted a message with the phrase, “They killed this dude called Jesus… what do you think they’ll do to you???!” along with the hashtags #fakefriends and #fakelove.
The post led to accusations of antisemitism, as some assumed the “they” in his message referred to Jews.
However, Foxx later clarified that his post was aimed at a “fake friend” and not about Jews, offering apologies to those who were offended.
Jennifer Aniston, known for her role in Friends, was one of the first to criticize Foxx for being antisemitic.
She took to her Instagram stories to express her disapproval of the post, stating that she did not support any form of antisemitism and did not tolerate hate of any kind.
Aniston’s condemnation of Foxx received backlash from fans who supported Foxx and criticized her for accusing him of antisemitism.
Jamie Foxx has recently returned to the public eye after battling a serious illness, which caused him to remain silent for several months.
He was hospitalized in April, and while the specific illness has not been disclosed, reports suggested it posed a significant threat to his life.
In July, Foxx reassured fans that he was recovering and expressed his belief that God helped him through the difficult time.
