Jimmy Carter Pays Tribute to Late Wife Rosalynn Carter at Memorial Service

Former President Jimmy Carter attended a memorial service for his beloved wife, Rosalynn Carter, in their home state of Georgia. The ceremony took place at the Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University in Atlanta on Tuesday, November 28.

Despite his age of 99, Jimmy made a heartfelt appearance at the event, sitting in a wheelchair. He wore a black suit and tie with a white dress shirt, and draped a blanket featuring Rosalynn’s face over his shoulders. The blanket also included their last name and hometown of Plains, Georgia.

The service was attended by numerous family and friends, as well as distinguished guests such as former presidents and first ladies, including Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Melania Trump. President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff were also present to pay their respects.

The memorial service featured a special performance from country music stars Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, who were close friends of Rosalynn. On Wednesday, November 29, Rosalynn’s funeral will be held at the Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.
