John Bolton Slams Trump’s Comments About Iran Attack

John Bolton, a previous national security adviser during Trump’s presidency and a vocal critic of the former president, has rebuked Trump’s assessment of Iran’s recent attack on Israel.

Iran fired more than 300 missiles and drones towards Israel, causing concerns of a potential wider conflict in the region.

During a campaign rally, Trump suggested that the attack would not have occurred if he were still in power, attributing the incident to what he called “weakness” on the part of the United States.

However, Bolton rejected Trump’s claim, describing it as “delusional.”

Bolton contended that Trump lacks a coherent approach to dealing with international crises involving the United States’ adversaries, such as Iran, citing previous instances such as Trump’s changing stance on North Korea.

Regarding the response of Joe Biden’s administration, Bolton expressed disagreement with the reported calls for Israel to show restraint.

He criticized Biden, stating that it would be embarrassing for the United States if the reports were accurate.

Bolton emphasized the importance of confronting Iran, which he sees as the primary threat to regional stability.

Bolton also opposed diplomatic solutions, arguing that Iran’s recent attack demonstrates the failure of deterrence.

He asserted that without imposing consequences on Iran, the situation could escalate further, posing a greater threat to Israel and the region.

In the meantime, Benny Gantz, a member of Israel’s war cabinet, stated that Israel would retaliate against Iran at a time of its choosing.

Gantz highlighted the need to strengthen regional cooperation to effectively address the ongoing tensions.
