King Charles III’s Coronation: Biden Skips, Trump Criticizes, and London Celebrates

In a Truth Social post, Donald Trump alleged that the absence of Joe Biden at King Charles III’s coronation in London on Saturday has greatly insulted the British people.

Trump expressed his opinion that Biden should have attended the event and asked whether it was too much to ask. He also stated that the lack of attendance has caused the US to lose support worldwide.

However, it should be noted that Biden’s decision to skip the coronation is in line with a long-standing tradition observed by US presidents.

Accompanied by her granddaughter Finnegan, First Lady Jill Biden attended the service at Westminster Abbey. She wore a blue Ralph Lauren dress, accessorized with a blue bow and a matching pair of gloves for the occasion.

Biden congratulates King Charles on Twitter

On Saturday morning, President Biden took to Twitter to congratulate King Charles III and Queen Camilla on the occasion of the coronation. In his post, he emphasized the strong friendship and enduring relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom, stating that it is a source of strength for both nations.

First Lady, Jill Biden, was in attendance

The First Lady expressed her feelings of honor in representing the United States on this historic day at Westminster Abbey in a statement she posted to Twitter. The service was attended by 2,000 guests, including world leaders, royalty, and celebrities. During the ceremony, King Charles III was crowned with the bejeweled St Edward’s Crown, and the attendees shouted “God save the king” in celebration.

After the ceremony, Charles and Camilla rode in a Gold State Carriage from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace, accompanied by a procession of 4,000 troops. Tens of thousands of well-wishers lined the streets of London to celebrate the coronation.

It is worth noting that former US President Donald Trump, currently facing a civil rape and defamation trial brought by writer E Jean Carroll in New York, was not invited to attend the service.

In a separate post on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump extended his best wishes to the newly crowned King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Trump addressed the couple directly, stating that they are both very special people and wished them good luck and best wishes. He also expressed his hope that their reign would be long and glorious.
