Following a prime time interview with former President Donald Trump in which he again claimed to have “won” the 2020 presidential election, the conservative network Newsmax added a disclaimer. Host Eric Bolling stated, “now just a note, Newsmax has accepted the election results as legal and final.”

During the interview, Trump discussed a potential indictment in Georgia related to his efforts to challenge the 2020 election results. He emphasized his perspective on the election being rigged, while also defending his actions.

This disclaimer comes amidst legal challenges faced by Newsmax. Voting technology company Smartmatic has reportedly subpoenaed the network’s employees for their correspondence as part of a lawsuit over election coverage. Dominion Voting Systems has also sought communications between Newsmax employees and the Trump administration as part of a defamation lawsuit.
In the interview, Trump also mentioned concerns about the 2024 presidential election and the possibility of it being “stolen.” He asserted the importance of preventing such an outcome, emphasizing the significance of that election in the country’s history.
