The Ohio Republican Party has officially endorsed former President Trump for his reelection bid in the 2024 White House race. Ohio Republican Party Chair, Alex M. Triantafilou, expressed confidence in Trump’s ability to fight for Ohio’s workers, businesses, and families, despite the constant attacks from the radical left.
Triantafilou stated that Trump’s unwavering leadership and commitment to prioritize America’s interests are essential in reversing the failed policies of Joe Biden and Sherrod Brown. This endorsement makes Ohio’s Republican Party the first state party to back Trump for the 2024 election, according to various reports.
The endorsement comes after Ohio witnessed victories for progressive causes in recent times. Last month, Ohio voters approved a ballot measure that enshrined abortion rights in the state constitution, along with the legalization of recreational marijuana, making Ohio the 24th state to do so.
While the Republican Party appreciates the other passionate candidates presenting their cases to the American people, Triantafilou emphasized that Trump is the ideal choice for this moment.
In the 2024 GOP presidential race, Trump holds a significant lead over his rivals, polling at an average of 60 percent. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida follows behind at 12.6 percent, while former Governor Nikki Haley of South Carolina stands at 9.5 percent. Ohio’s own entrepreneur, Vivek Ramaswamy, holds a respectable 5.1 percent, according to data from FiveThirtyEight.
