President Biden to Hold Hollywood Fundraiser with A-List Co-Hosts for 2024 Campaign

In an effort to kickstart his re-election campaign, President Biden will be attending a star-studded Hollywood fundraiser next month. The event, co-hosted by prominent figures like filmmaker Stephen Spielberg and actor/director Rob Reiner, promises to attract high-profile guests and raise significant funds.

Taking place on December 8 in Los Angeles, the fundraiser will be hosted by Andorra James Costos, the former U.S. Ambassador to Spain, and his partner, interior designer Michael Smith.

This power duo previously worked together during former President Barack Obama’s administration, with Smith contributing to the redesign of the Oval Office while Costos served as ambassador.

Joining Spielberg and Reiner as co-hosts for the evening are Shonda Rhimes, Rick Caruso, Kate Capshaw, and Peter and Megan Chernin, among others.

The event offers different ticket tiers, starting at $1000 per person. For those seeking a photo opportunity with President Biden, the price rises to $25,000 per ticket. And for those wanting to be recognized as co-chairs of the event, a hefty fee of $500,000 is required.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be directed towards the Biden Victory Fund, as well as the Democratic National Committee and local Democratic Party organizations. The involvement of First Lady Jill Biden has also been confirmed, adding to the star power of the event.

Earlier this year, the Bidens had planned to launch their Hollywood fundraising push, but it had to be postponed due to strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA.

However, the First Lady did headline multiple successful fundraisers in the summer and early fall. Vice President Kamala Harris and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff also contributed to the fundraising efforts, hosting a lucrative event just this week.

Interestingly, this won’t be the first time President Biden has begun the Hollywood fundraising portion of his presidential campaign at the home of Costos and Smith.

In fact, he held the very first Hollywood fundraiser of his 2020 campaign there. Spielberg, who has long been a supporter of Biden, donated $250,000 to the Biden Victory Fund during that time. Reiner and the Chernins were also present at a 2020 fundraiser for Biden, which raised over $700,000.

Reiner has consistently voiced his support for Biden, both during the 2020 election and throughout his first term, often contrasting him with former President Trump.

On social media, the filmmaker expressed, “The difference between Joe Biden and Donald Trump is: Joe Biden is a decent law-abiding person, and Donald Trump is a pathologically lying criminal.”

With Hollywood heavyweights on board and tickets selling at high prices, President Biden’s first big fundraising push for his 2024 campaign is set to make a statement in the entertainment industry.
