Rep. Greene on FBI document implicating Joe Biden: ‘Nothing short of deeply troubling’

On Thursday, Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R) expressed her thoughts about an unclassified FBI document she reviewed, which purportedly implicates President Joe Biden in a bribery scandal.

She publicly addressed what she deems as the critical points that the electorate ought to be aware of.

‘The American people have every right to know’ – Greene

“Upon examining the FBI’s FD-1023 form, it suggests a potential involvement of Joe Biden in a political bribery and quid pro quo incident. The American people have every right to know this,” wrote Greene in a tweet.

In an accompanying video, she explained that the document, an FD-1023 form, was reviewed at the government’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility and found it to be “very credible.”

An unnamed whistleblower has claimed in the unclassified document that during his tenure as vice president, Biden allegedly participated in a $5 million bribery operation with a foreign individual, offering specific actions in return.

Allegations are ‘nothing short of deeply troubling’

Terming the allegations as “nothing short of deeply troubling,” Greene stated that the whistleblower is an FBI-paid informant, and the issue is unrelated to accusations made by former Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani in 2020.

Previously, Giuliani accused Biden of coercing Ukrainian authorities to dismiss top prosecutor Viktor Shokin by withholding millions in secured loans because he intended to scrutinize Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy firm where his son, Hunter Biden, was employed.

In April 2016, Shokin was dismissed amidst chronic corruption charges. Approximately one month before his termination, Biden threatened to withhold $1 billion in secured loans to Ukraine unless Shokin was dismissed.

In his own words from a 2018 Council on Foreign Relations event, Biden said, “I looked at them and said: I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a [expletive], he got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

Shokin later declared in a sworn affidavit to a European court that his removal was because he declined to abandon the investigation into Burisma.

Reasons behind Hunter Biden’s appointment to Burisma board?

According to Greene, citing the FBI document, the whistleblower indicated that Burisma Holdings appointed Hunter Biden to its board with the aim to resolve the issues surrounding Shokin’s impending investigation.

The whistleblower, an adviser to Burisma, suggested the company hire legal representation and try to resolve any problems that might arise from Shokin’s investigation, instead of recruiting Hunter Biden as leverage.

Greene’s shocking accusations

Referring to the document, Greene shared the whistleblower’s assertion that he had “paid $5 million to one Biden and he paid $5 million to another Biden, and it was all bribery to get Shokin fired and end the investigation into Burisma.”

Greene said the whistleblower revealed that bribery is common in business transactions and affairs involving Ukrainian officials.

Many businesses account for this in their budgets, she noted.

Greene called out the alleged activity as illegal for the vice president of the United States and his family members.

Biden dismissing the accusations: ‘Where’s the money’?

Biden dismissed the accusations as “malarkey” on Thursday, while Hunter Biden has previously denied any misconduct concerning Burisma.

During a joint press conference on Thursday with the British Prime Minister, Biden was questioned about the bribery allegations. A reporter asked, “Congresswoman Nancy Mace says there’s damning evidence in an FBI file that you sold out the country. Do you have a response?” to which Biden quipped, “Where’s the money?” and dismissed the allegations as “malarkey.”

Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee, Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), who had viewed the FBI document on June 5, dismissed the document as being based on “allegations that went nowhere.” Meanwhile, the White House has dismissed the panel’s investigation as a “silly charade” designed to damage Biden’s reputation ahead of the 2024 elections.
