The cause of death of Robert De Niro’s grandson, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, has been revealed as an accidental drug overdose, according to the New York Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The toxic effects of multiple substances, including fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine, and cocaine, were cited as the cause of death.
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez, aged 19, was found dead on July 2 in his Manhattan apartment.
Sofia Haley Marks, 20, was arrested in connection with the incident for allegedly selling drugs to Rodriguez before his death.
She appeared in a Manhattan federal court on federal narcotics charges and is currently in custody.
Leandro De Niro Rodriguez was the son of Robert De Niro’s oldest daughter, Drena, who had adopted her mother Diahnne Abbott’s last name.
Drena, an actress and filmmaker, worked alongside her son in various projects, and they shared a close bond.
