Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis, expressed his belief that Donald Trump is too old to be president during an interview with CNN on Sunday. DeSantis remarked, “The presidency is not a job for somebody that’s pushing 80 years old,” referring to Trump, who recently turned 77. DeSantis further elaborated by invoking President Joe Biden, who is set to celebrate his 81st birthday on Monday, stating, “Father Time is undefeated. Donald Trump is not exempt from any of that.”

Moreover, DeSantis asserted that his own age would make him a more viable candidate for the Republican Party. He confidently declared, “I’m in the prime of my life. I go in day one, I’ll serve two terms, deliver big results, and get the country moving again. That’s what Republican voters want to see.”

Despite being contenders for the GOP presidential nomination, DeSantis has typically refrained from directly criticizing his former mentor. However, recent polls have consistently placed Trump as the frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential primary, with a substantial lead of nearly 50% over DeSantis.
