Rudy Giuliani Faces Lawsuit over Allegedly Unpaid $10k to Accounting Firm

Former New York City mayor and Trump attorney, Rudy Giuliani, is facing another legal battle as an ex-associate sues him for allegedly failing to pay a $10,000 bill to accounting firm BST & Co. CPAs, LLP.

The lawsuit claims that Giuliani contracted the firm to conduct a business appraisal during his separation from his wife, Judith Nathan, but never paid for the services despite agreeing to the amount beforehand.

The firm sent an invoice in February 2020 and is now seeking not only the payment but also approximately $15,000 in attorney’s fees. With interest, the total sought by the firm is around $25,000.

This lawsuit is not the only one Giuliani is currently dealing with. In September, his former attorney, Robert Costello, and his firm, Davidoff Hutcher & Citron LLP, sued him for allegedly failing to pay $1.6 million in legal fees, of which he only paid $214,000. Costello’s firm also seeks reimbursement for attorney’s fees and other related costs.

In response to the lawsuit, Giuliani released a written statement expressing his personal disappointment in Costello’s actions. He criticized the excessive nature of the billed amount and described it as far beyond legitimate fees.

There have been attempts to resolve Giuliani’s legal troubles, such as Costello traveling to former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence to seek his assistance in covering Giuliani’s legal fees.

However, Trump showed little interest in helping his former confidante and only agreed to attend two of Giuliani’s fundraisers. Eventually, Trump’s PAC, Save America, paid $340,000 to a data vendor called Trustpoint.

Giuliani has made efforts to raise funds for his legal defense by listing his Manhattan apartment for sale. Originally priced at $6.5 million, the listing remains active, with the price dropped to $6.1 million.
