Surprise, Surprise! DOJ officials who refused to prosecute Hunter donated to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris

Federal Election Commission (FEC) records indicate that two federal prosecutors who reportedly refrained from filing tax fraud charges against Hunter Biden had contributed to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris during their private sector employment.

Request to press TAX charges against Hunter Biden

U.S. Attorney David Weiss, a Trump appointee, who conducted the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) investigation into Hunter Biden, requested two U.S. Attorneys to press tax charges against Hunter Biden.

But his requests were rebuffed by Biden-appointed U.S. Attorney for D.C. Matthew Graves and U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California E. Martin Estrada, according to testimony from IRS Whistleblower Gary Shapley.

Special Counsel authority requested

Shapley testified that “Weiss requested special counsel authority after each request was rejected, and Attorney General Merrick Garland denied his requests.” He further explained that Hunter Biden’s alleged tax evasion from 2014-15 needed to be charged in D.C. before the statute of limitations expired.

Shapley added, “However, I would later be told by United States Attorney Weiss that the D.C. U.S. Attorney would not allow U.S. Attorney Weiss to charge those years in his district.”

Material facts were concealed

Shapley detailed the implications of this situation, stating, “That process meant no charges would ever be brought in the District of Columbia, where the statute of limitations on the 2014 and ’15 charges would eventually expire. The purposeful exclusion of the 2014 and 2015 years sanitized the most substantive criminal conduct and concealed material facts.”

Matthew Graves, the U.S. Attorney for D.C., was nominated by the Biden administration.

Grave’s, a Biden campaign donor

Furthermore, FEC records show that while working at DLA Piper, Graves donated to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign.

Much like Graves, Estrada, a Biden nominee, assumed the role of U.S. Attorney in September 2022, around the same time prosecutors presented their case against Hunter Biden to California’s Central District, Shapley explained.

Shapley testified, “Prosecutors stated that they presented the case to the Central District of California in mid-September. The case agent and I asked to participate in that presentation, but it was denied.”

Shapley went on to say, “In January of this year, I learned United States Attorney Estrada had declined to bring the charges in the Central District of California. For all intents and purposes, the case was dead, with the exception of one gun charge that could be brought in Delaware.”

Estrada donated to Harris’s primary campaign

Estrada had worked as a partner for Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP, and FEC records reveal a $500 donation to Kamala Harris’ Democratic primary campaign during his time there.

On June 20, Hunter Biden was indicted on charges of tax avoidance and felony gun possession. He pleaded guilty, thus avoiding jail time. Weiss stated that the investigation into Biden was ongoing after the charges were announced.

Shapley’s IRS testimony revealed that Hunter Biden allegedly texted a Chinese business executive, accusing the DOJ of slow-walking the Biden investigation.

The White House has denied allegations of Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s business affairs, and Attorney General Merrick Garland refuted Shapley’s claims of interference in the Hunter Biden probe.
