Former President Donald Trump has decided to halt his intention to unveil purportedly “irrefutable” evidence of election fraud in Georgia during the 2020 presidential election. This announcement comes after receiving advice from his legal team and follows his recent indictment related to his efforts to overturn the election results. Trump initially made this promise in response to his indictment, stating that he would present the alleged evidence in a press conference.
However, on Thursday evening, Trump reversed course and declared the cancellation of the press conference. He now intends to include the supposed evidence as part of his legal submissions in the ongoing Georgia case. This decision by Trump’s lawyers is a shift from his earlier stance of public revelation.
In the face of the indictment, Trump has continued his practice of criticizing prosecutors. He described the Georgia indictment as “disgraceful” and targeted Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, branding her as “publicity & campaign finance seeking” and alleging her association with “record-breaking Murder & Violent Crime.”

Earlier in the week, Georgia’s Republican Governor Brian Kemp publicly dismissed Trump’s claim of possessing incontrovertible evidence of election fraud. Kemp stated that the 2020 election in Georgia was not stolen, and emphasized that no evidence of fraud has been presented under oath in a court of law.
The indictment against Trump and 18 co-defendants alleges their involvement in a wide-ranging scheme to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. The indictment contends that Trump and his associates participated in a conspiracy to unlawfully alter the election outcome in favor of Trump. Despite their repeated claims, Trump and his associates have not substantiated their allegations of widespread election fraud leading to Trump’s loss in Georgia.
