Trump Criticizes Former Female White House Staffers for Speaking Out

Former President Donald Trump used his social media platform, Truth Social, on Sunday to target three women who served in his White House and have recently spoken out against him. This response follows their warnings about the potential dangers of a second Trump presidency.

Cassidy Hutchinson, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Sarah Matthews appeared on ABC’s “This Week” for an interview with Jonathan Karl, where they expressed concerns about the implications of a second Trump term for America. In retaliation, Trump shared screenshots of past tweets and quotes from articles and interviews featuring Griffin and Matthews, in which they defended or praised him.

During the interview, Alyssa Farah Griffin, who resigned from her role as White House communications director in December 2020, issued a stark warning regarding the potential risks of a second Trump presidency. She stated, “Fundamentally, a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it, and I don’t say that lightly.”

Griffin, now a co-host on “The View,” emphasized that Trump had gone to “historic and unconstitutional lengths” to “steal a democratic election” in his quest to retain power. She expressed deep concerns about what a second Trump term might entail.

Sarah Matthews, who served as a White House deputy press secretary and Trump campaign spokesperson until her resignation on January 6, 2021, echoed Griffin’s sentiments. Matthews pointed out that Trump continues to insist that the 2020 election was stolen and fraudulent.

She stressed the importance of preventing Trump from securing another term, stating, “Our singular focus needs to be, if he is the nominee, on making sure that he is not elected president again next November.”
