The world of talk shows has not been without its fair share of scandals, controversies, and disputes, varying from co-host altercations to allegations of affairs, racism, hostile work environments, and more.
Fox News and Tucker Carlson shock the world
Late in April 2023, Fox News shocked its audience when it terminated the contract of Tucker Carlson, the host of the network’s most-watched program.
While the reasons for his dismissal were not initially stated, it was later uncovered that the decision was a directive from Rupert Murdoch, the Fox Corp. chair, following the channel’s unsuccessful legal skirmish and significant settlement with Dominion Voting Systems.
Adding fuel to the fire was an ongoing lawsuit from a producer on Tucker’s show accusing the work environment of being discriminatory and hostile, replete with sexist obscenities and antisemitic humor.
On May 17, 2023, the Drudge Report stated that Fox News executives wanted Sean Hannity to fill Tucker’s vacated 8 PM slot, but Fox News did not confirm the rumor.
