US House Intel Committee Chair Expresses Doubt on Approval of Ukraine and Israel Aid by Year’s End

Biden Portrayed as Weak and Beatable

Republican Mike Turner, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has expressed skepticism about the approval of new US aid to Ukraine and Israel before the end of the year. In an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press, Turner pointed to the White House’s policy on the southern border as a major obstacle.

He stated, “I think it would be very difficult to get it done by the end of the year and the impediment, currently, is the White House policy on the southern border.”

Turner emphasized that Congress would require changes in laws to ensure the border returns to its previous state. This could include measures such as limiting the entry of asylum seekers across the Mexican border.

Republican lawmakers are seeking to link their approval of foreign military aid to stricter border policies, especially after President Joe Biden signed a stopgap bill that extended funding for the US government until early next year.
