White House Press Secretary Refuses To Answer Questions On Durham Report

White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, declined to comment on the findings of Special Counsel John Durham’s report regarding the FBI’s use of “uncorroborated evidence” during the investigation of alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The report concluded that the FBI had failed to adhere to the law and lacked “actual evidence of collusion,” further accusing the agency of violating surveillance laws.

During a press briefing, RealClear Politics correspondent Philip Wegmann inquired about the White House’s response to the report.

Jean-Pierre deferred the question to the Department of Justice, emphasizing the administration’s belief in an independent DOJ.

“I’d leave it to the Department of Justice to speak to,” she said, adding, “We believe in an independent Department of Justice, that’s what the president said when he was running, and that’s what the president has said the last two years.”

FBI acknowledges the need for ‘reforms’ to prevent ‘missteps’

In response to the report, the FBI acknowledged the need for reforms and admitted that they should have been implemented earlier to prevent the “missteps” outlined by Durham.

The agency stated that it had already implemented numerous corrective actions, which were in effect at the time of the report.

The FBI’s statement emphasized the importance of conducting their work with rigor, objectivity, and professionalism to meet the expectations of the American people.
