Texas National Guard Flies Historic “Come and Take It” Flag In Show of Defiance to Biden Administration

The Texas Military Department, overseeing the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, and the Texas State Guard, has raised a historic state battle flag at its headquarters in Austin, sending a defiant message to the Biden Administration amid the ongoing border stand-off between Texas and the federal government.

Historic “COME AND TAKE IT” Flag

The flag displayed features the iconic phrase “COME AND TAKE IT” and draws inspiration from the Gonzales flag, symbolizing the spirit of free Texans who were willing to fight against tyranny during the Texas Revolution.

A Symbol of Texan Resolve

The Gonzales flag’s history dates back to the Texas Revolution when Mexican Gen. Antonio López de Santa Anna sought to confiscate a cannon from the town of Gonzales.
