Trump Urges for Revival of Boeing’s ‘Beautiful’ 757 Model

Former President Trump recently expressed his opinion on Boeing’s aircraft fleet, advocating for the return of the Boeing 757. This statement follows the grounding of nearly 200 Boeing planes due to a mid-flight emergency.

Trump’s Advocacy for the 757

Trump expressed his admiration for the Boeing 757 on his Truth Social site, describing it as the most beautiful and best-handling plane from a pilot’s perspective. He contrasted this with his criticism of the 737 extensions.

Critique of the 737 Max

In his post, Trump referred to the 737 Max as a cursed model, urging Boeing to go back to the 757, which he nicknamed the ‘Praying Mantis.’ He shared his personal preference for the 757, which he has used himself.

Boeing Stock Decline

Following the January 5 incident involving a 737 Max 9 aircraft, Boeing’s stock has experienced a decline. The incident, where an emergency door panel detached mid-flight, caused alarm among passengers.

FAA’s Response to the Incident

The Federal Aviation Administration responded to the incident by ordering the temporary grounding of about 171 Boeing planes operated by U.S. airlines. This decision was made to ensure passenger safety and aircraft integrity.

Alaska and United Airlines’ Findings

Both Alaska Airlines, which operated the affected flight, and United Airlines reported finding loose parts in door panels of some of their 737 Max 9 jets during subsequent inspections. These findings raised further concerns about the model’s safety.

 Investigation by Federal Investigators

The National Transportation Safety Board has launched an investigation into the incident. They are specifically looking into whether the plane door had bolts attached prior to takeoff, which is crucial for understanding the cause of the detachment.
