For a long time, we thought about Bitcoin (BTC) purely as a token to buy and sell.

However, the emergence in recent years of different types of Bitcoin stocks has changed how we look at this cryptocurrency.

Corporate RiseWhat different types of stocks are currently listed, and how have they changed our perception of the token? By looking at the three main categories, we can see how companies that work with BTC are taking big strides in various directions.

The Growth of Corporate Reserve Companies

Perhaps the biggest and most unexpected success in the stock market for BTC has been with strategic reserve companies that buy massive amounts of the token. This trend was started by MicroStrategy (now Strategy), which leads the way with over 630,000 BTC.

It’s followed by the likes of Metaplanet, who have also adopted an aggressive buying strategy. With more tools than ever before to help us understand cryptocurrencies, this type of reserve has now extended to other tokens like Ethereum and Litecoin.

Michael Saylor is generally regarded as being the leader of this trend, as he honed an approach with Strategy that sees the companies sell bonds to buy more and more digital assets.

This has meant that the company’s performance in the stock market is now closely aligned with Bitcoin’s price, which is a bold move that has sent shockwaves through the financial world.

This method of stockpiling Bitcoin has proved successful to date, but some critics suggest that it goes against the coin’s original purpose as a peer-to-peer payment method.

Thankfully, there are still companies that allow customers to pay with BTC, including online gambling platforms like casinos. The option to play Bitcoin slots using this digital currency gives players the chance to gamble securely by sending their tokens to the casino wallet and withdrawing them to their own wallets when the time comes.

As well as BTC, other coins such as Ethereum, Litecoin, and Tron can be used in this way.

Bitcoin slots like Book of mBit, mBit Cash, and mBit Mines increase the crypto connection by using symbols that bring to mind the leading tokens.

This is a good example of how BTC can be used in a variety of ways, since using it to fund a casino account also allows the user to access table games.

Live dealer titles are included too, which means that digital cash can be used to play online games in an authentic casino setting with a human dealer, blurring the lines between real-world and digital entertainment.

The Mr Bitty character, who is used as a symbol on various Bitcoin slots, pops up in this video, showing how strong the link between BTC, casino games, and entertainment has become.

Mining Companies Are Becoming More Sustainable

When it was launched in 2009, the Bitcoin network was easy to mine with just a home computer.

As this task has become more competitive, it’s now almost impossible for regular miners to claim any tokens, as massive mining companies with a powerful hash rate have dominated the scene. Some of these companies are listed on various stock markets.

MARA Holdings is the biggest mining company, with 17 data centers across four continents, giving them massive computing power. They have a sustainable, green approach to mining and are listed on the NASDAQ under the MARA ticker.

Bitcoin and moneyTheir most recent report confirmed that they won 2% fewer blocks in July when compared to June, but that they’ve begun energizing the Texas wind farm data center to boost their rate. The company holds reserves of 50,000 BTC.

Exchanges and Wallet Providers Keep Innovating

While the previous companies represent some of the latest Bitcoin trends, exchanges and wallet providers are among the longest-established operators in this industry. Coinbase is one of the leaders, having been established in 2012, with millions of users now signed up for their services. It’s listed on the NASDAQ under the COIN ticker.

Bullish recently made the headlines when it made its debut on the NYSE under the BLSH ticker. This is seen by some analysts as a further sign that cryptocurrencies are moving into the mainstream.

Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest boosted its stake in Bullish – which has a focus on institutional clients – by grabbing another big chunk of stock following the exchange’s disappointing first few days on the market after it had opened with a valuation of several billion.

These different types of Bitcoin stocks reveal how the leading cryptocurrency has entered the stock market in a variety of interesting ways.

It seems likely that we will continue to see more companies that use this token getting listings on various stock exchanges in the coming years. Lots of people are eagerly watching this space and waiting to see how it unfolds.
