Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., has launched an impeachment campaign against President Joe Biden, accusing him of compromising national security and mishandling immigration policies.
The White House swiftly denounced the move as a “political stunt.”
In a press conference, Greene unveiled articles of impeachment targeting Biden’s approach to the southern border and immigration.
Allegations of neglected immigration laws and jeopardized national security
She asserted that the President had deliberately neglected to enforce immigration laws and secure the border, thereby jeopardizing national security.
Greene further claimed that Biden had deprived border law enforcement of essential resources and policies, allowing the illegal spread of fentanyl into the United States.
Other US officials roped into Greene’s impeachment efforts
The Republican lawmaker did not limit her impeachment efforts to Biden alone, as she also introduced articles of impeachment against other officials, including U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Matthew Graves, FBI director Christopher Wray, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
According to Greene, Biden’s policies, directives, and statements regarding the southern border have violated the nation’s laws and ravaged the country.
She accused the President of flagrantly disregarding his constitutional duty and posing a direct threat to national security.
